Stock Split - LT - How to do in Amibroker charts?

Here I am trying to explain how to do stock split in a local database of Amibroker.

As per available information, Larsen & Toubro Limited (symbol: LT) has informed the Exchange that the Company has fixed Record Date as July 13, 2013 for the purpose of issue of Bonus shares in the ratio of 1:2 (i.e. one bonus share of Rs.2/- for every two fully paid up equity shares of Rs.2/- each held). The Ex-Date is 11-Jul-2013

This means if you had two shares of LT (old = 2), you will have 3 shares (new = 3) on 11-Jul-2013

So Date = 11-Jul-2013
new:old = 3:2

Now lets see how we can perform the split in Amibroker charts.

Open Amibroker and select the symbol LT to view charts.

Go to Menu bar > Symbols > Split.

In the Split dialog box, Select date = 11-Jul-2013 (Ex-Date)
Then select Ratio (new:old) = 3:2

Click OK

Save database ( File > Save Database).

The split is done!.

Note: Here we have to note that the bonus shares announced ratio as per exchange was 1:2. But we put in amibroker as 3:2. When we put ratio in Amibroker split, we have to put as "new number of shares" : "old number of shares". This is very important.

Stock Split - SBIN
Purpose: Face Value Split Rs 10 To Re 1
Ex. date: 20-11-2014

To do split in Amibroker
Date = 20-Nov-2014
Ratio (new:old) = 10:1

Remember to back up your Amibroker database before do the spit. The split is to be performed in database after the Ex. Date

Stock Split - ICICIBANK
Purpose: Face Value Split Rs 10 To Rs 2
Ex. date: 04-12-2014

To do split in Amibroker
Date = 04-Dec-2014
Ratio (new:old) = 10:2

Remember to back up your Amibroker database before do the spit. The split is to be performed in database after the Ex. Date

To do split in Amibroker:

Open Amibroker and select the symbol ICICIBANK to view charts.

Go to Menu bar > Symbols > Split.

In the Split dialog box, Select date = 04-Dec-2014 (Ex-Date)
Then select Ratio (new:old) = 10:2

Click OK

Save database ( File > Save Database).

The split is done

We can do the same for Futures too.

Date = 19-Dec-2014
Ratio (new:old) = 10:2

Purpose: Bonus 1:1
Ex. date: 02-12-2014

To do split in Amibroker
Date = 02-Dec-2014
Ratio (new:old) = 2:1

Remember to back up your Amibroker database before do the spit.
The split is to be performed in database after the Ex. Date
